The four courses at Jumeirah Golf Estates pay tribute to the power of nature, each employing the distinctive characteristics of its own surroundings to deliver a unique challenge. Together, they promise a playing experience that is exhilarating, exciting and unforgettable.
- Harnessing the stark beauty of the desert, Fire has been designed to reward focus and precision while offering players a variety of strategic play options.
- Earth’s dramatic natural elevations – a first for any Dubai course – and a myriad of trees will demand a well thought out approach from the tee.
- Contrasting with its desert surroundings, Water will feature abundant lakes and water features that are carefully positioned to ensnare the unwary golfer.
- A traditional links-style course, Wind celebrates the power of the air and promises to take the level of challenge for which its designer is renowned to new heights.
Earth: opening in 2007
The second of Greg Norman’s two Eco-Signature courses, Earth will enhance the already picturesque landscape and offer panoramic vistas of the entire course.
As with Fire, the enhancement of existing natural features will provide differing angles and a feeling of change in perception from the tee.
Earth will use bunker placement and myriad trees to guide players, while at the same time protecting the ideal line. Broad, rolling fairways will be broken on several holes by an often meandering and sometimes daunting watercourse. This omnipresent feature will be strategically positioned to capture shots that stray from the fairways and greens. Choosing the correct distance off the tee and carefully considering the line will be a major factor to successful play.
Greens complexes will be accommodating if played from the right position in the fairway, but avoiding trees and bunkers will require well thought-out approach shots.
